Academy of Agriculture of France

The French Academy of Agriculture was established in 1761 by King Louis XV, as the "Agricultural Society of the Generalizing of Paris (Agricultural Society of Paris), has become" Academy of Agriculture of France "( French Academy of Agriculture) by a decree issued on February 23, 1915. It undertook to inform the government and the public on progress in all aspects of agricultural sciences, be at national or international level, as well as facilitate exchanges between scientists of different disciplines. Its scope includes agriculture, livestock, fisheries, agriculture and the sea, but also food and industrial products, machinery, environment, urban life ... as to their scientific, technical, legal, political and social. The Academy, whose signature is "Agriculture, Food and Environment", includes 120 members, 180 corresponding members of France and 60 members and 60 corresponding members from 38 countries.

The Academy is divided into 10 sections,

  • Systems crop production
  • Forests and forest products
  • Animal production
  • Facial sciences
  • Environment-organisms interactions
  • Life sciences
  • The environment and rural areas
  • Food industries
  • Agro-business and non-food products
  • Economics and political science.

A regular meeting of a public meeting is held every Wednesday afternoon, unless otherwise indicated, in the premises of the Academy, 18 rue de Belle Chasse, Paris 7th. In addition, members also participate in the organization of meetings or seminars with other sister institutions or academies such as the Academy of Medicine, the Academy of Sciences, the Academy of Veterinary Sciences ... Each year the Academy distributes prizes, medals, and grants in its fields of competence.


The Academy of Agriculture of the mission of France is to contribute in the scientific, technical, economic, legal, social and cultural in agriculture and rural areas.

It was studied under the national and international aspects, issues relating to

  • Production, processing, marketing, consumption and utilization of agricultural, forestry, fisheries and freshwater aquaculture, and the recovery of food
  • Other natural resource management in relation to the development of rural areas, to improve the environment and more generally the quality of life.
  • The activities of the entire rural population and its relationship with the urban world.
  • It advises on all matters within its competence, in particular those referred to it by the government.
  • It rewards with prizes and medals and diplomas to the authors of works that have contributed to the progression of science and technology or economics.

It provides links to French and foreign institutions whose purpose is next to his own. It contributes to the history of agriculture and the rural world.

Some societies are also located in different other countries, whereas their head offices are located in USA.  As of today approximately 126 Cancer Societies, 35 Immunology societies, 71 Cardiology Societies, 35 Diabetes societies, 52 Nursing societies, 36 Toxicology societies are located in different parts of USA  such as Baltimore, Chicago, Florida, California, Texas, Georgia, Illinois and Ohio.

European Medical Societies: In European region there are almost 425 medical societies and associations located in UK, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Norway and Netherlands. Next to USA, Europe is considered to have excellent research facilities and infrastructures. There are almost 62 Pathology societies, 25 Immunology Societies, 32 Nursing Societies, 42 Neurology Societies, 28 Dermatology Societies, 19 Dentistry Associations, 105 Cancer Associations and 34 Ophthalmology societies  along with many other societies and associations,  these societies were established with an aim of improving the scope and interaction among the researchers and the scientific world.

Asia- Pacific Medical Societies: Asia is the largest and the most populous continent. There are many medical societies and associations in different countries, which will be almost 575 societies in number approximately. Majority of the societies are located in Australia, China, India, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines and Singapore. In Asian countries there are around 98 Cancer Societies, 110 Diabetes Societies, 85 Food and Nutrition Association and Societies, 42 Cardiology Societies, 21 Nephrology Societies and many other societies on diverse field are present in Asia- pacific countries which are contributing towards the research world.

Middle East Medical Societies: Societies and Association located in the Middle East region are almost 376 in number. These are mostly located in Turkey, Iran, Israel, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates. In Middle East, nearly 44 Dentistry Societies, 32 Cancer Societies, 52 Diabetes Societies, 25 Surgery Societies, 74 Pediatrics Societies along with many other societies, associations and organizations are supporting the researchers and scientists to accomplish their researches in the particular research field.
