Danish Mycological Society

The Society for Fungal Knowledge Promotion was founded October 1, 1905 by a group of fungi enthusiasts who wanted to spread awareness to pick wild mushrooms in the wild. Until World War II association had most years between 300 and 400 members, but then began the figure to rise later to over 2000 members for the 100th anniversary in 2005. The two main centres is still Copenhagen and Aarhus. The association organizes every year many fungi tours in cooperation with nature guides, nature conservation association or similar interest groups.
