International Leksell Gamma KnifeSociety

Dr. Dan Leksell in 1989 founded the Leksell Gamma Knife Society  in Stockholm, Sweden to provide a forum for Gamma Knife clinicians, physicists and researchers a platform to exchange information, data and clinical techniques with the purpose to better patient outcome. The Society is a multinational and multidisciplinary organization, established to drive education and cooperated action and act as a hub for resources. The Society plays an important role in increasing the noticeability and get recognition for Gamma Knife surgery in the worldwide medical community, among healthcare providers and patients. The publicly sharing of results and work experiences allows all Gamma Knife team members worldwide to maintain leadership in the field of intracranial radiosurgery, according to the most recent clinical deductions. The mission of the Leksell Gamma Knife Society is to further define and expand the role of Gamma Knife Surgery in the treatment of intracranial disorders. The development of best practices in order to improve patient outcomes is an important objective of the Society. Other objectives of the society include:

  • Improving results achieved in the field of radiosurgery by promoting support of basic and clinical research, with a focus on expanding the role of Leksell Gamma Knife.
  • Increasing the visibility and acceptance of Leksell Gamma Knife technique in the worldwide medical community and among healthcare providers and patients.
  • Maintaining leadership in the field of radiosurgery by continued commitment to the highest standards of research and technical achievement.
  • Stimulating multi-center trials and cross-site collaboration

Meetings ,events and Conferences organized by different societies are devoted to bring together the researchers, professors and interested personnels in that field across the world thereby facilitates sharing and gathering of knowledge and information through networking and collaboration. PULSUS group through with a motive to create such platforms is all set to explore series of Medical Conferences in USA, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions throughout the 2017-18 year. American Clinical Societies: There are almost 521 medical societies and associations located altogether in the USA which are dedicated to serve the people of the country in a wide range of clinical fields starting with immunology, neuroscience, oncology,  cardiology, nephrology, diabetes etc. USA has the maximum number of  national, international, worldwide societies and associations .Many societies present in various other parts of the country, also have  their head offices located in the USA.  Currently approximately 101Cancer Societies, 35 Diabetes societies, 35 Immunology societies , 75 Cardiology Societies , 52 Nursing societies,36 Toxicology societies are located in various regions of USA  such as California, Ohio,Washington, Georgia, Chicago, Florida Illinois and Baltimore.

European Clinical societies: more than 400 medical societies and associations are located throughout the regions of Europe and are located through the UK, Italy,France, Belgium, Spain, Switzerland, Netherlands ,Germany, Norway etc. Europe lies only after USA when accounting for the number of medical and non medical societies and associations. There are as many as 25 Immunology Societies, 49 Pathology societies, 42 Neurology Societies, 34Nursing Societies,  17Dentistry Associations, 20 Dermatology Societies,87 Psychiatry associations, 94 Cancer Associations and 31 Ophthalmology societies  . Most of these associations and societies have a common purpose to  improve the scope and interaction among the researchers and the scientific world.

Asia-Pacific Clinical Societies: Asia is the largest continent with the most number of population. There are many medical societies and associations within different countries, which can be accounted to 575 societies and associations approximately. These societies are majorly located in specific countries like Australia, Japan, China, New Zealand, India, Philippines, Singapore and eevn Malaysia. In Asia there are around 108 Diabetes Societies,  98 Cancer Societies, 42 Cardiology Societies, 85 Food and Nutrition Association and Societies, 21 Nephrology Societies and other societies related to various fields contributing vastly to the research world.

Middle East Clinical Societies: Societies and Association located in the Middle East region maybe lesser compared to the other parts of the world but still they can be  accounted to a number of 376. These societies are mostly located in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Israel and United Arab Emirates, Iran. There are about 30 Cancer Societies, 52 Diabetes Societies, 44 Dentistry Societies, 28psychiatry Societies, 74 Pediatrics Societies and many societies, associations and organizations belonging to various other fields are also present providing the researchers and scientists facilities and infrastructure to accomplish their research works.
