Icelandic Orthopedic Association

The Icelandic Orthopedic Society was founded in 1972. The board is elected biannually which include a president, a general secretary and a cashier. The society had nearly 45 members in the year 2010. The main mission of the society is to stimulate the cooperation and professional coworking between its members and to encourage that orthopedics in Iceland is in accordance with best evidence based and cost benefit standards. The society participates in education of its own members and other health care workers.

The Icelandic orthopedic Society has on its agenda to educate and inform on various orthopedic issues, ie   new developments in orthopedic surgery, waiting lists status and other issues that are of common interest to orthopedic surgeons, other health care workers and the public.

The purpose is to promote the education of physicians and encouraged to see that the work is controlled. Also to cooperation doctors all, who looks for progress in healthcare. To participate in international cooperation doctors of common interest. Annual General Meeting of the Icelandic Medical Association is the supreme authority of the Company and its policy making. The Icelandic Medical Association takes issues between annual meetings. The board is accountable to the General Meeting.

The scope of work of the Board is to safeguard the interests of the Icelandic medical profession, its members and individuals, care of the implementation of the Annual General Meeting, appear to the world as a representative of the company

Provide comments and appoint councils and committees, as provided for in the laws and regulations.

About Icelandic Orthopedic Association

There are numerous  Orthopedic Societies worldwide, both national and international. However, IOA stands out to be one of the most renowned societies both in Europe or worldwide.  Some of the Orthopedic Societies in different parts of the world are as follows:

American Orthopedic Societies : USA is considered to be the hub of research. There are several societies working on different field, out of them USA Orthopedic Societies and associations are present.  These societies and association are located in Maryland, Illinois, Washington, California and Florida.

These societies were established in different time periods by eminent Orthopedists and scientists working in this field.

Middle East Orthopedic Societies : In Middle East a lot of Orthopedic Associations are present. These societies are organizing annual and biannual  Orthopedic Annual Conferences in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Orthopedic Societies in Middle East are involved with, surgical and clinical Orthopedic as well.  

 Orthopedic Societies Conferences : The Orthopedic Meetings and conferences which are scheduled by these societies for the year 2016 and 2017 in different parts of the globe. These International Orthopedic Conferences and  Orthopedic Annual Meetings are intended to bring together all the recent researches, new innovations and findings in a global platform.
